(Fatwa: 1496/1496/M=12/1434) (1) Hing (asafoetida) is lawful, it is used in meals as well as in medicines, but an excess quantity of it may cause death. (2) The time of Ishraq is till midday, but it is better to perform it in early hours. (Ahsanul Fatawa Vol. 3, p 467)

Q. Salam. I am a pakistani residing in Virginia, USA. The meat they call Halal over there means, that it is slaughtered the right way with cutting the jugular vein by the machine (and not cutting it all the way) however "Bismillah Allahu Akhbar" is not said by a specific person. They put it on the recording. This is the only type of Halal meat available over there.
