(Fatwa: 1339/1339=M/1430)

It is sunnah. It is mentioned in hadith: برکۃ الطعام الوضوء قبلہ والوضوء بعدہ (ترمذي)

It is makrooh to eat while leaning against something, as it a hadith says:

قال رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم: أما أنا فلا آکل متکئا (ترمذي)
