The beliefs of Shias are contrary to the Ahl-e-Sunnah wal-Jamat, they hold abhorrent and repulsive beliefs regarding the sahaba (companions of the Prophet - Sallallahu Alaihi Walsallam); therefore they are deviant sect. It is not good to befriend and have relation with them. Otherwise, it is allowable to meet them on human ground. And, eating is also allowable if one is sure that the food is free from any impure agent. But, if there is doubt that they have mixed some impure thing, as they are famous for, then one should refrain from eating in their houses.
